India avenged their defeat in the 1st T20 by comprehensively getting the better of Sri Lanka at Ranchi. No.1 ranked side in T20's turned in a high quality performance and restored normal order to proceedings.
After putting in an all round batting performance and scoring 196/6, thanks to Dhawan(51), Rohit(43) and Raina(30), India bowled equally impressively to restrict Sri Lanka to just 127/9 . Dhoni entrusted Ashwin with the first over who responded by getting Dilshan stumped with the very first delivery. Nehra followed it up with 2 wickets as Sri Lanka found themselves in the deep end of the pool at 13-3. Though a small partnership between Chandimal(31) & Kapugedera(32) ensued, the climbing required run rate meant India got wickets regularly as the visitors tried to attack. Ashwin ended up with 3 wickets as India won by 69 runs.
